Senator Smart Adeyemi representing Kogi West Senatorial District on Wednesday argued that the system of democracy being practiced in Nigeria currently has been criminalized. He stated this while making contributions to “a bill for an Act to establish the National Electoral Offences Commission and for Other Related Matters.” Adeyemi gave instances how hooligans emerge as leaders, noting that the situation has painted Nigeria’s democracy in a bad light to the extent that people look at all politicians as criminals. He said: “Mr. President, when people of the questionable character become leaders, then what is the future of that country.                      Cristianoo Ronaldo, has spoken for the first time since report emerged his mother, Dolores dos Santos Aveiro, was rushed to hospital after reportedly suffering a stroke. Ronaldo flew back to Madeira to be with his mum on Tuesday, after she was admitted to Dr. Nelio Mendonca Hospital. The Portugal captain later tweeted: “Thank you for all your messages of support for my mum. She is currently stable and recovering in hospital. “Me and my family would like to thank the medical team looking after her, and kindly ask that we are all given some privacy at this time.” Dolores previously beat breast cancer, after she was diagnosed with the disease in 2007.
